The European Commission is currently conducting (between September and November 2025) a review of the technical screening criteria of the EU Taxonomy for certain sectors.
During the workshops held with invited experts, it is hoped that the proposals prepared by relevant stakeholders (professional groups, organizations, and industry actors) will also be taken into account — such as the promising package of recommendations developed by WWF and other environmental organizations.
The EU Taxonomy is a continuously evolving and dynamically changing framework. The Commission’s current work aims to simplify the taxonomy, make its application easier, and ensure that it keeps pace with ongoing regulatory and technological developments.
